Zine Workshop

1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
W. Clarke Swanson Branch

Description

What’s your superpower? In honor of Free Comic Book Day, learn how to create your own zine at this hands-on workshop!

Zines are unique, handmade, hyper-local booklets created by community members that help to quickly spread ideas to other members in the community. Zines promote freedom of speech and expression and can resemble a traditional book with only words or a graphic novel with a mixture of words and pictures.

Learn more about Zines and OPL’s zine collection in this blog post.

Materials will be supplied, but bring your ideas, your creativity, and copies of any photos or other illustrations you would like to include. Registration is required.

All Omaha Public Library locations are wheelchair accessible. Need sign language interpretation or other accessibility assistance for this event? Please email Nancy Novotny at NNovotny@omahalibrary.org to request accommodation. Requests must be made at least five business days before the activity or event.
