Stories After Dark: “Scaredy-cat”

7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Benson Branch

Description

Have you ever explored a creepy abandoned building? When was the last time you were scared or did something that scared you? Have you procrastinated on a big project? Or had a difficult conversation with a friend or coworker? Did presenting to a crowd go different than expected?

Join OPL during October's Benson First Friday for tales of times you were a “scaredy-cat.” This is a fun, loose, mildly competitive storytelling event for adults.

Got a scaredy-cat story to share? Prepare a 5-8 minute story and come share with the crowd.

Terrified of the stage? We need audience members to cheer on our storytellers. Judges will be chosen from the audience and prizes will be awarded to the creepiest tale.

Storytellers are encouraged to register prior to the event.

Ground Rules:

  • Stories must be originally crafted
  • Stories should run between 5–8 minutes
  • Visual aides and artifacts encouraged
  • Follow the theme: “Scaredy-cat”
