Stories After Dark: Family

7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
W. Clarke Swanson Branch

Description

Join OPL for a fun, loose, mildly competitive storytelling event for adults!

Families are . . . Fill in the blank with your story! What emoji do you think of when you think about your family? What’s the story about your family? Whether it be a found family, family adventure, military or veteran family, we want to hear about your experiences!

Prepare a 5-8 minute story about your experience and come share with the crowd.

Terrified of the stage? We need audience members to cheer on our storytellers. Judges will be chosen from the audience and prizes will be awarded.

Storytellers are encouraged to sign up here ahead of time.

Storyteller Ground Rules:

  • Stories must be based on life
  • Stories should run between 5–8 minutes
  • Visual aides and artifacts encouraged
  • Follow the theme: Family

This theme was selected in part with OPL’s 2024 Reading Challenge. Learn more here.

Please call 402-444-4852 or email smlewald@omahalibrary.org with questions.
