I gave the book 5 stars several years ago, I recently "re-read" it by listening to the audio book. It was FANTASTIC. 5 Stars - I highly recommend if you enjoy historical fiction and romance. When WWII nurse Claire is on a second…

4 1/2 stars for the book, 5 stars for the audiobook. The narrator is amazing. It's looong--over 32 hours--but worth every second.

This is a historically rich story produced as a first-class audiobook. The novel itself is replete with historical and cultural detail and well-described characters. For the accolades it has received over the past decades, my criticisms of…

Well that didn't take long! 32 hr book...took 5 days. Couldn't put it down! If you like time period novels with a hint of scifi, this is a great one. Set in the Scottish Highlands, briefly in 1945 - mostly in 1743, you follow the story of…

Let's just say, I had no idea what I was getting into when I ventured into this FANTASTIC series. I am such a fan. I am listening to them and loving the reader very much. Very fun and addictive. I even took the Outlander cookbook home…

This was my third time reading this book, but my first time on Audiobook. I can't believe how much I missed the first two times. I tend to skip around a bit when I read, something you can't do when you're listening to someone else read…

Suspension of disbelief required. There were a couple historical errors which initially rubbed me the wrong way. However, if you can let that sort of thing go this is an amazing tale full of action and romance and adventure. It's a lot…

I now understand how this has become a classic. It has everything: drama, romance, Highlanders, post-WWII Britain, the kitchen sink. The audiobook narration is wonderful and will gently waltz you through this meandering tale.

I'm generally not an audiobook listener, but there have been such rave reviews about Davina Porter's narration of Diana Gabaldon's books that, in addition to reading the book and watching the TV series and still feeling like I couldn't get…

I loved this story when it first came out and I enjoyed rereading it now. The details in this story are fantastic. I can imagine being there. Am looking forward to rereading the rest of the series.

This book is listed under Science Fiction/Fantasy, which it most definitely is not. It is a psuedo-historical bodice ripper. And I mean that LITERALLY, as the protagonist's bodice is literally ripped as soon as she trips into the 18th…

A very satisfying historical novel that really moves along! The fact that the story also contains time travel is just a bonus. The characters are interesting, mostly likeable and well developed. The story is also very well written. …

I was captivated by this story, and now understand why it has become such a bestseller. It is very authentic and believable, despite the time-travel, and I was left longing for the next one in the series. The audiobook was extremely easy…

I generally don't read romance, but love historical fiction, and this is a very good listen! I listened to the audiobook format and Davina Porter does an excellent job of portraying/voicing all of the characters.

Guys like this series too! Intrigue, adventure, colonial-era warfare, and characters that are complex enough to carry you through 5 (or more) very large books. The first book reads more like a romance, and some of the storylines are a…
