I enjoyed this movie. Very light affair, which is such a relief from all the violent action movies today. This is a nice little story, though, secretly, I would have liked a different ending.

A delight to watch Ben Kingsley's dry wry wit warmly waltzing with Patricia Clarkson's marriage breakdown foaming at the brain.
Spoiler alert : Sadly bittersweet that it was decided at the end that genders could not mix as just friends. In…

Directed by Isabel Coixet in 2014 based on a New Yorker article by Katha Pollitt, this American dramedy follows Wendy, a WASPish book critic who takes driving lessons with an East Indian instructor after the breakup of her…

Patricia Clarkson is excellent as a middle-aged, prototypical liberal New Yorker whose bitterly unwanted divorce forces her into many changes, including finally learning how to drive. Her first interactions with her driving instructor, a…

Loved it. Up there with the best movies I've seen this year. Great acting, great script interesting story. Also, upbeat...people of different faiths and cultures learning from each other.

I too liked this film that starred Ben Kinglsey (Ghandi:1982; Schindler's List: 1993; Iron Man 3: 2013), and Patricia Clarkson (Maze Runner: 2014, 2015 & 2018) as the two main characters that were on their own roads of discovery. One…

The movie ends abruptly with the emotionally-stunted main characters only slightly improved, but then this is realistic for short-term nature of driving lessons. I wouldn't describe any of the acting performances as stellar and there is…

Nice enough movie, Script did not give Patricia Clarkson or Ben Kinsley roles to shine in. (East) Indian immigrants ALL played very well in their too short roles. Patrician & Ben's characters were ho-hum as, I think, the script gave them…

I kept waiting for the comedy and it just never did come through. The divorce could have been more dramatic. The driving lessons could have been more comical.
This movie flat-lined for me.
