This rags to riches story of a boy's New York childhood, coming of age and rise to musical fame was hard to put down. A good, traditional novel full of interesting insights into professional musicianship.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. It definitely gets a place on my 'desert island' list! Treat yourself and read this book.
