Expected more given the plaudits. Pretty slow start so far.

This book really caught my attention for a first volume. The way that the characters and back-story are introduced is really great because everything just blends right in, but makes sense - that's rare. There is also excellent artwork. I like the idea for a story and am interested to see where it goes. In a nutshell, a super-hero "hangs up the cape" and becomes a politician and eventually the mayor of NYC.

Quite a fascinating concept. It serves as a lesson about the role of politics in the lives of everyday people, and the effect that it has on the people who make a career of it. It doesn't hurt that Hundred himself is a fascinatingly enigmatic character. I strongly recommend it.
