Book six of the Ex Machina series has made this one of my favourite comic series. Part of the appeal is how the writers handle the antics of Mayor Hundred as a superhero: He's clumsy at times, he makes mistakes, at times he is beaten easily. The story shows how difficult the process of trying to succeed as a vigilante in our realistic world is. He flies through a window during a practice session and a big piece of glass gets into his arm; that is believable. The realistic approach to the superhero genre in this series reminds me of the original 12 issue series called 'Watchmen'.
