To be honest, I had low expectations, thinking this would be one of those chick-lit things that are overwritten and end with some hunk of a man and happily-ever-afters.... but I was wrong! Thankfully. It was an easy read, but it was funny and touching and didn't wrap everything up in a nice neat package at the end. The characters were left in mid-stride, still living their lives without any perfect solutions to their problems. I enjoyed this book a lot.
Absolutely love this book, now I have read it twice. Just as good as the first time. A must read, will have you laughing and crying. Winston is an exceptional writer, she should write more. Guaranteed a great read.
This book manages to make grief hilarious without downplaying or diminishing it. If you haven't yet suffered the loss of someone close to you, this will give you some idea of what the bereaved are going through, and if you are bereaved, make sure you're not with stuffy disapproving relatives when you read this, because you'll be rolling on the floor laughing. It will soothe you, restore your sanity, and give you hope for a future in which you're not incapacitated by grief.
Entertaining and somewhat realistic (with some hilarious exaggerations) story, ends with an interesting twist.
