My favorite author. Her story plots consistently have a different bent to them. It's unfortunate that she is no longer with us as I suspect that she could have continued writing many more unique story lines.

Dorothy Gilman's mysteries are not like the challenging multiple character complex mysteries like Patricia Cornwell's, or Elizabeth George's, or Michael Connelly's are. They are rather simple, but fun.

The reader doesn't have to work so hard and can just relax and enjoy a captivating little tale. In between the more intense mysteries, it's fun to read one of her books, or the books by Lilian Jackson Braun, of "The Cat Who" mystery series.

Dorothy Gilman's "Mrs. Pollifax" mystery series is also very delightful. To a woman who is almost 60, it's nice to see a woman of retirement age become expert in Karate, who can go on challenging adventures for the CIA.

This second book about the intriguing and mysterious Madam Karitska, is quite interesting and I hope Dorothy Gilman writes more about this capable and intelligent psychic who cares deeply for her clients. I just hope it doesn't take her another 27 years to write the 3rd book about Madame Karitska!! The 1st book about Madame Karitska was written in 1975, entitled, " The Clairvoyant Countess."
