I would have given this book 5 stars except for my frustration that, although this is a woman struggling to recover from alcoholism, the author never mentions AA. All the things that Paula suffers during her early recovery would have been alleviated by going to AA meetings. Leads me to believe that Roddy Doyle has something against AA. This is an awesome book, however, I could not put it down. Sequel to The Woman Who Walks Into Doors.
