Book 2 in the Joe Pickett series by CJ Box. I enjoyed it as much, if not more, than Book 1, Open Season. Box presents Pickett and his family in a real and compelling way - describing the strengths and vulnerabilities while also detailing a Wyoming setting that is wild, untamed, and unpredictable. Game Warden Pickett finds himself dealing with eco-terrorists and shadowy stockmen along with nature. Read and enjoy.

If this had been the first Joe Pickett book I picked up, I probably would not have read any of the others.

Happily this seems to be the low spot of the series (a problem many second novels seem to have) but Box regains his stride and the later ones are well worth reading
