You can always count of Virgil Flowers to provide action, plot twists, and witty remarks. There was, thankfully, less sex in this one than previous installments but plenty of blood, explosions, and suspense. I appreciate not having to hear about child molesters or abusive parents.
Virgil is growing on me, he seems to keep his cool in any situation except those involving romance. With the ladies he seems rather inept, too bad for Virgil he will have to be satisfied with catching the bad guys.
Great read. Another engaging Virgil Flowers book.
Entertaining read by Sandford. His Virgil Flowers character is difficult not to like.
That effing Flowers! He's at it again, solving complex mysteries with aplomb, and doing it with elan. Great mystery read!
Another great Flower's book. definately a must read
Love that F'in Flowers
The mystery drags on a bit too long. Found myself began to fast read the last two chapters after realizing the "new clues" kept on coming. As it turned out, one of the two unknowns turned out to be an overlooked scheme that should have been an easy discovery by the most detective neophytes.
I have read all of Sandford's novels twice and a few of them, three times. I'll probably read them all again in the future. Lucas Davenport, Virgil Flowers, Del Capslock, Shrake, Jenkins, Marcy Sherrell et al are my ALL TIME favorite fictional detectives. I hope Sandford never stops writing about these characters. It would be nice if the library would obtain copies of his non-fiction as well. Those are published under his real name... John Camp
