The story of about three million soldiers who fought a war, no longer remembering the reason, and died, wishing for the end of it, while negotiations for peace remained unresolved for 25 months following June 1951. It is estimated that the Korean War left four million dead. The war continued for 37 months, and the armistice negotiations continued for two years and two months during the war. The entire military force was concentrated in a battle for the hills.

Liked it more than Tae Guk Gi...the acting wasnt nearly as melodramatic. Very effective, well shot film.

Good movie for someone who is into history, which I'm not but my dad is. He liked it. Me? I flip out over the ending. It's just not fair!

Very bleak, dark and realistic korean war movie about a true battle that happened right at the end of the war. Really liked how for the most part, the story was all about the korean armies (both south and north, but mostly south) and the americans were not really part of the movie. Very chilling and bloody scenes and despite the subtitles you do get to know many of the main characters well. Another case where politics trumped the lives of the troops. But for anybody who was into the Pacific, Band of Brothers, or 'authentic' war movies, you should watch this one.

Reminded me much of the likes of "Platoon" & "Saving Private Ryan". A tad too long & heavy on the wails & tears, but enough humanity to leave the audience pondering over the cruelty of war. See it.
