I think this is a fantastic book to read. Love all her books. However, GB should not read her own works...really poor quality sound, almost incomprehensible for me.

This book was originally published in 1995 with a new conclusion written in 2011. It's a fascinating glimpse into a world that's inaccessible to most Western cultures. Brooks introduces you to a wide variety of women -- the London-educated woman who donned the hijab to prove her Islamic fundamentalism; the driving protest in Saudi Arabia; the Israelite who angered both Jewish and Muslim fundamentalists; and many more. Along the way, Brooks points out that what Western cultures see as logic and reason are considered moral choices or imperatives for the Islamic world. This was Brooks' first book before she began writing historical fiction.
