LOTS of fun - on this 1948 naughty, nautical musical joy-ride - with Busby Berkeley choreographed dance numbers.

Casting it on sea cruise, let's it have nice vintage 1948 film from Cuba, Trinidad, Rio, and more.

I particularly enjoyed the 'It's Magic' song Doris sings - a couple times.

Oh, and the 'I Taw a Putty Tat' cartoon extra was also LOTS of fun - make sure to watch...

For those who love classic musical films, I'm sure there's t a lot to enjoy for you here with the wonderful and vivacious Doris Day in her debut, though she seems quite seasoned and at home. All is good until about chapter 14 of this DVD then it appears to be defective. I tried to clean it but to no avail, I'll have to rent it to see the remainder.

I like how Doris day played a different character in this movie, but it was a little slow. The songs weren't very memorable and overall its an ok movie.

Apparently Doris Day's debut. She plays the sassy but "down home" character that she played in pretty much everything else, but with an edge that makes it more interesting than her standard "girl next door" position. The plot is a convoluted "mistaken identity" romantic comedy, with a rather contrived ending. (In fact, it seems to end a bit too soon: we don't get a final scene explaining how everybody is going to live happily ever after.
