A celebration of what it means to be biracial.
This book is about a boy they call "Mixed-up Mike" His dad has deep brown skin and his mom's is rich cream and honey. Sometimes people look at them funny. Mike is a blend of dark and light. He is mixed just right! They have fun with everyone. Mike is just perfect in his own skin. He is not mixed-up, he just happens to be mixed!
Great book and the illustrations were wonderful. I enjoyed it!
This book is glorious. As a biracial person, it's sometimes difficult to find books, media, etc. that I can relate to. This book is so cute and well written and progressive! I love it!
Amazing book for all children and family too. I loved the topic as my daughter is biracial. I think is important to build a great self-esteem and self-compassion.
My two children are now 22 and 16 years old. I wish this book was around when they were younger! Thankfully the biggest complaint for my daughter was the hair! This beautiful book illustrates perfectly the life of a bi-racial child. Thank you Mr. Diggs.
We need diversity in our picture books, and this is a great addition to the collection. The illustrations are bright and vibrant, the rhyming text is fun, and the message is important for lots of kids who are wondering where the books are that feature characters that look like them. Highly recommended.
