After the stunning events in the first season finale that found all of the survivors of the Ark attempting to return to the surface, and the epic battle with the Grounders, there are plenty of questions for Season Two. Foremost: Who are the mysterious Mountain Men? Who survived the battle with the Grounders? And what₂s with that mysterious white room in Mt. Weather?

I have to give season 2 a mixed review. As in the first season, character development is very strong, but some of the plot choices are disturbing. SPOILER ALERT: Our hero, Clarke (Eliza Taylor), is left with unenviable decisions which mean sacrificing lives (including innocent children), and though this could add reality to a drama, I don't think I want to watch that in a show where I enjoy the characters. Also, that a people would forceably torture and kill another when there's another humane solution-- donating bone marrow-- not to mention, showing that agony, well you get the idea. The story is compelling, and one wants to keep watching, but these choices make the actual viewing difficult to say the least. It's more of a test of one's "ick" quotient, so for me anyway, that's a drawback. You are forewarned!

I found the beginning of season 2 not as good as 1 but when half way through the episosed are really entertaining. A few shocking moments and deaths of characters that get you going.

The first season of The 100 had a very strong "Lord of the Flies" theme. The second season is more like "Battlestar Galactica Razor", where the theme is do the ends justify the means? Unlike BG, the cast of The 100 is not quite able to pull this off. Still, I'm curious where the show goes in season 3.
