Was anyone else disappointed in this ending? The whole story focuses on getting Alice and Charles in a place where they get along civilly and take their marriage to heart. There are other stories around this, yes, and they are also part of what happens in the real world, but so much energy went into Alice not letting Charles get the best of her and vice versa, that when they finally seem to call a truce, the end happens. What happened afterward???? It drives me crazy when two lovers finally connect and work out their issues that the story ends there. That should be the middle of the story.

I do like the fact that this was a truer picture of the issues family deal with and not just a romance where everyone is beautiful, handsome, strong, smart, clever, humorous and everyone seeks their attention. This family has problems, a better representation of many families.

A good Regency Romance which I thoroughly enjoyed.
