As kids in the 1980s, Sam Brenner, Will Cooper, Ludlow Lamonsoff, and Eddie "The Fire Blaster" Plant saved the world thousands of times, at 25 cents a game in the video arcades. Now, they're going to have to do it for real. In Pixels, when intergalactic aliens discover video feeds of classic arcade games and misinterpret them as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth, using the video games as the models for their assaults.

I believe Adam Sandler does not enjoy making movies anymore. His performance was so bad I thought this would be a B rated movie. Maybe it was a B movie? It looked as if Adam was reading his lines instead of becoming the character he is suppose to represent. I did find some humour in it and a twist where pacman was really the bad guy. Maybe the movie would have appealed to the younger generation except the younger generation would not get most of the mockery of the middle age group. The reference to the fact that they spent hours playing different video games of the 80's and how some of the gamers which were top players actually have no other skills. That at one time they were looked up to and now they are old news and fading away. As if they wasted their youth on Donkey Kong. Well maybe I wasted my time watching this movie?

Duh! this movie is stupid, but it was way better than I thought it would be.
Look for a special guest tennis star.

This movie is SO STUPID, it would actually be tolerable. However... There is absolutely no need for all the PC/Left propaganda constantly spewed out in it. Give us a break "Chinawood".
It's made for 11 year olds, and immature 14 year olds.

This was an ok movie, I didn't love it or hate it, it was just average. One thing I did not like about the movie was the fact that I could always guess what was going to happen next, there was no element of surprise. That isn't necessarily a bad thing but surprise in a movie makes it more interesting and entertaining to watch. Other than that the movie was good. I liked how the video games came to life and the movie had an interesting concept. In my opinion, the movie didn't have any major themes or lessons. There was a little bit of humor (some which I found lame). I know some people who really enjoyed this movie. I recommend this movie to young kids, ages 2-10. I give this movie a 3 out of 5 stars. - @terrificbooklover of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

After aliens intercept videos of old arcade games and mistake them for threats of war, an attack commences between extraterrestrials and earth. The President of the United States, Will Cooper (played by Kevin James), decides that he must recruit his childhood friend Sam Brenner (played by Adam Sandler) for he is a former video game champion and may be able to defeat the aliens and save mankind. With the help of old school arcade champions, the fate of the earth may perhaps be saved. Released in 2015 and directed by Chris Colombus, this science fiction movie full of animations and special effects is definitely worth the watch.

Everyone’s favourite old classic video games feature in this movie, one such game being Donkey Kong. Speaking of Donkey Kong, a boy named Sam Brenner, a huge fan of the game (an understatement, as he’s one of the best players on the planet), gets beaten by a man named Eddie Plant, who takes the title. NASA sends some videos of video games to space in an effort to contact aliens. They succeed, but the aliens interpret it as a declaration of war. I am not too much of a fan of classic games like Pacman and Donkey Kong, but those who want to reminisce the old retro games may enjoy this movie. 2/5

It was very funny. Besides the brief immoral content, it is worth a watch.

This is a movie worth watching once, but no more than that. It was fun to see the various video game characters come to life, but Wreck it Ralph did that much better. There is a kind of comfort to watching an Adam Sandler movie, if you are someone who grew up with these movies being popular. He has a formula and sticks to it. It's predictable. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. If this movie is ever on cable and you are channel surfing, it is worth your time to see it once.

Oh no! It was not that good. It started funny but then got stupid. Watch the original Independence Day instead.

This is one funny, clever movie! Just saw it and enjoyed it.
Who needs Ghostbusters when you can get Pixels? The script is solid, the laughs are real, the actors are superb in this tongue-in-cheek flick.
Panned by some critics and viewers, most likely born after the 1990s, who just didn’t get it. You had to have lived through the 80s and actually played video games, just because they were a fun thing to do, to truly appreciate this movie.
I highly recommend it! Two thumbs UP! Yes, even Ebert would agree.

Violet: But according to a text I got 20 minutes ago... he's marrying a 19 year old named after a spice. Not even spelled correctly (Sinnamon.) It's just not where I thought I would be
at this point in my life.
Matty: Classics you mean Halo and Call of Duty?
Brenner: No. The real classics. Defender. Pac-man. Astroids. Games you play in an arcade which was a building outside of your house. You would go there with your friends, listen to music, cute girls everywhere. In ancient times, they call it socializing.
Brenner commenting on the pile of electronic gadgets: Is it your birthday?
Matty: No. My parents are getting a divorce.
Brenner: Oh. So it's like 10 birthdays.
Brenner: I was supposed to have a baby with my ex-wife. And the doctor who was helping us make the baby did help us make the baby but unfortunately I wasn't in the room.
