"Centuries ago, Illarion was betrayed- a dragon made human against his will, then forced to serve humanity as a dragonmount in their army, and to fight for them in barbaric wars, even while he hated everything about them. Enslaved and separated from everyone he knew and from his own dragon brothers, he was forced into exile in a fey realm where he lost the only thing he ever really loved. Now he has a chance to regain what's been lost-- to have the one thing he covets most. But only if he gives up his brothers and forsakes the oaths he holds most dear. Yet what terrifies him most isn't the cost his happiness might incur, it's the fact that there is just enough human in his dragon's heart that he might actually be willing to pay it and betray everything and everyone- to see the entire world burn in Dragonmark, the next blockbuster Dark-Hunter novel by #1 New York Timesbestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon"-- Provided by publisher.

Disappointed! The bulk of the novel was copied from two other stories. The novel seemed less about the main characters and more about re-hashing previous stories. It started out really good and on par with the previous novel, but it seems like she was pressed for time, copied the bulk of two other books, and wrote an ending in less than 20 pages or so.

**SPOILER**

While there was a decent amount of history explained and detailed for Illarion and Edilyn. The conclusion and relationship conflict resolved in about a dozen pages. Edilyn "dies" and disappears for centuries and suddenly with no real explanation she is back, saving Illarion, and everything is all roses.

Sherrilyn Kenyon called this one in. Half the book was word for word copy of two other stories. The ending was wrapped up so fast and didn't explain anything. Disappointed.

Another good book in the Dark Hunters Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I had tears in my eyes at times while reading about Illarion's horrible life when he was young. When he meets Edilyn and they fall in love I thought everything was good, but to my surprise it is not. I also was happy to see that Savitar was in this book along with the some of the others. I don't want to give to much away, but if you are also a fan of the Dark Hunters, you will have to read this. Can't wait for the next book.

Sorely disappointed in this mish-mash book that has every character ever created by Sherrilyn and then some . It was hard getting interested in this book but I managed to get through with this. This book has little to do with the main characters but everything with every other character that has been thrown in to make a small novella into a full size novel. I believe that the interest of putting her earlier books into a motion picture has gone to her head and has stifled her writing. The last book that I loved and can read forever was Acheron. After that book it seems that every other book written by Sherrilyn was a dud. She was my Favorite writer for so many years it is hard for me not to read her new books but the enjoyment is gone.
