Although I am a longtime fan of Star Wars, I found this book to be overblown, scattered and disappointing. I think the author is reading too much into Star Wars.
The most interesting chapter (for me) was "Rebels: Why Empires Fall, Resistance Fighters (and Terrorists) Rise." This book was published in 2016, but well before the November election. I read it after the election. In this chapter the author talks about "group polarization" and social influences. The discussion of the "cascade effect" (people hear other people's opinions about a topic, and they adopt those opinions sometimes without even realizing it). The author notes that sparking "favorable cascades" is crucial to winning an election. He cites Obama's campaign as one sparking favorable cascades, and Scott Walker's run as sparking unfavorable cascades. I could not help but think that we now have more recent examples of both.
I bet there are better books about Star Wars out there.

A rather light read, considering the grandiose level it wants to be - it really came across as reading a transcript of a TED talk. Apart from that, I found the book to be quite entertaining and enlightening, all things considered. There are a few errors concerning the saga (such as movie release dates, etc.) but these really don't detract from the book, overall.
