Years have passed since the demon swarm-- and humanity's destruction-- emerged from the Breach. As each day passes the world tumbles further into depravity, bent and twisted by the new order, corrupted by the Usurper, the enemy, and his infernal horde. The Vagrant is friendless and alone, walking across the desolate, war-torn landscape. His purpose is to reach the Shining City, last bastion of the human race, and deliver the only weapon that may make a difference in the ongoing war. But the Shining City is far away and the world is a very dangerous place....

This is a strange book, but if you have read any reviews about it you already know that. A Vagrant who cannot speak, a baby, a goat and a sword that periodically speaks comprises the group of wanderers. The world is pretty complex but it is fed to you in a way that you dont really see the world building. It just happens, and its a very intriguing world which draws you in. Overall I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to the next installment.
