A harried filmmaker tries to juggle the demands of her latest movie with a personal life in shambles. The star of her film, a bombastic American actor imported for the production, presents nothing but headaches and her crew is close to mutiny. Away from the shoot, Margherita tries to hold her life together as her mother's illness progresses and her teenage daughter grows ever more distant.

A strange film that would only get 1/2 star if it weren't for John Turturro. His dancing scene is worth an entire star all by itself. Look at the extras and there is even more with Turturro ad lib-ing behind the scenes that is precious.

Boringly stretched scenes of an irrational woman as a film director. There are two good scenes in the long movie, the grandmother teaching Latin to her granddaughter, and the calm brother taking the mother home where she wants to be.
There must be better movies about work and home life conflicts.
