This book is a must read for fans of Wonder by RJ Palacio and Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper. Aven is a 13 year old girl who has a pretty normal life except for the fact that she was born with no arms. She has learned to adapt and do most things even if it does sometimes take her a bit longer. Aven has a great sense of humor that somtimes gets her in trouble especially when she makes up different funny/traumatic accidents as to how she lost her arms. I liked that Aven stands up for her friends, Conner who has Tourettes and Zion who is constantly being teased for being overweight. I think this is a great book for kids to read and think about being in someone else's shoes.
