I think Zuckerberg edited this movie. After bringing up so many fascinating ideas about privacy in the modern world, this movie abandons them to an abrupt, nonsensical ending.

READ THE BOOK! I was very excited to see that this was going to become a movie and waited with great expectation. It was very disappointing compared to the book. (Expectation is the death of serenity!) Having enjoyed Hologram for the King film, I'll have to go back and read the book.(by the same author as the Circle) to see what I missed by not reading the book. Great author, yet disappointing in the screenplay area.

Read the book first. The author has a very good message to all of us (though he sure takes a long, slow time to tell it!). I recommend the book to everyone, and especially to the director of the movie, because I don't think he read the last half of the book! The first half of the movie is fine, and then it totally tanks! When they stop following the book, it all goes down the toilet. I would give the first half four stars, the second half negative stars. It's that bad. The ending doesn't even make a shred of sense.

Just awful. Not sure what Tom Hanks was envisioning when he took this role and also decided to produce (his name doesn't show up in the producer credits, but Play-Tone is his production company), but the final product was sorely sorely lacking.

Too many leaps in logic to count, such as why would the one guy who seems to question what's going on at this company, so easily trust and share all of his secrets with the company's biggest public shill?

Emma Watson I loved, this is more of an information movie regarding the evasion of privacy, loved the twist at the end.

I really did not enjoy this movie at all. I found it boring and it could of beem executed better. I gave it a star and a half just becuase Emma Watson was in it.

It's not that this movie is bad, it's just that we've seen it before and done much better. Also, I've not read the book but I heard that this pulls a complete 180 at the end. Instead, go and watch 1984 or the Truman Show. Still, it was nice to see Bill Paxton one last time (all be it in a minor role) and there is a nice 15 minute homage to him in the extras.

Takes George Orwell's "1984" to the umpteenth degree. No way would I give up all privacy for the sake of ease of business and security.

Shallow characters, shallow plot, very weak ending.
