Short and fun. I definitely laughed a couple of times while reading Rainbow Rowell's new book, Almost Midnight. These two short stories are a quick read and I especially loved Kindred Spirits as it's about Star Wars.

These two stories were short yet strong. I enjoyed reading the blooming romances especially since that's what Rainbow Rowell is known for. I recommend this book to teenagers or even older children since it is a pretty simple read.

Rainbow Rowell is one of my favourite authors, so I freaked out when I saw this book. After reading it, I can say I wasn’t disappointed. The first short story is about a girl who goes to her friend’s New Years party every year and meets a boy named Noel. The story is about their friendship, and how things change when they all go to college. The second story is about a girl who has grown up loving Star Wars, and is finally old enough to wait in the lineup outside the theatre. She pictures everyone in Star Wars costumes, making friends and bonding over their mutual love for Star Wars. But when she gets there its a whole different story. Both these stories were amazing, and I can’t wait for the next one! 5/5 Stars. @IVYBooks of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

The two short stories in this book are both so cute but I would have to pick the first one as my favourite. Rainbow Rowell’s writing is really good and these stories were both easy and fun to read. The second story seemed to go slower than the first one and wasn’t as interesting as the first one. I like that Rainbow Rowell’s characters are always unique and diverse- she always writes stories with many different characters of different races, sexualities, and backgrounds. This book is a good book to read if you want something light, happy and quick to read. 8/10. @Bookworm123 of The Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board

Rainbow Rowell's collection of two short stories, lovingly illustrated by Simini Blocker. I say "lovingly" because from the care given to the images, you can tell the illustrator cares just as much about the characters as the author. Like all of Rainbow Rowell's writing, these stories are heartwarming and delicate, but still realistic and your emotions will never be the same. If anything, I wanted more time with the characters!!
