It's been a very long time since I saw the original film and perhaps some form of remake was warranted, but this doesn't present any compelling justification. No hospital would have state-of-the-art MRI equipment mothballed in a basement like that and the more I think about this film the more ridiculous details surface. Best just try to be entertained.
Unfortunately this remake completely flat-lines for me (pun intended). Although it has a cameo by Kiefer Sutherland from the original Flatliners movie, it fails to create any interesting story or keep your attention as an audience member. The movie had stale characters and was just boring. I don't get bored easily but I found myself being distracted while this movie was on. About 15 minutes in, I ended up turning it off. My advice is just skip this movie and watch the original 90s Flatliners. That movie is amazing! Don't waste your time with this. 0/10
I MUCH PREFER this version of "FLATLINERS" than the original version. And, it's nice that Kiefer Sutherland was in this one, too, as the resident medical instructor (he was in the original "Flatliners"). This would make a great limited series for AMC Studios. --Mark A. Payne
its like watching final destination , but final destination was better
It's promising. If you go flatline and increase your potential imagine if you do it a hundred times. Lol, we could solve world hunger it this is real.
This was so much worse than the 1988 one. Skip it and watch that one instead
Ellen Page, three newbie medical students, and a 45-year-old Mexican dude decide it would be good times to purposely stop their hearts and have near death experiences... all in the name of science and stuff. They gain superpowers going thru the process but also have some annoying side effects because... THEY TAMPERED WITH THE VERY FABRIC OF SCIENCE AND STUFF! They begin to have hallucinations so EP takes a header off her balcony as she suddenly realizes that she actually has an acting career and doesn't want to be in this crap-tard of a movie anymore. SPLAT! Then the ghosts come in AND, BOY, ARE THEY PISSED! Kiefer Sutherland pops by and says, "You guys all suck! and my version of Flatliners was awesome! and Dark City was completely under-rated!" (which is actually true, btw). Blonde guy says to black chick that it's all about regrets or sin or something so they have sex in the room next to her mother AND, BOY, IS SHE PISSED! Hot white girl thinks that EP had it right all along and tries to off herself but white guy, black girl, and 45-year-old Mexican guy say "not so fast, cupcake, if we're in this to the end so are you" and shoot her full of drugs and electricity. They all celebrate by flirting and drinking and carrying on and thinking about regrets or sin or something. The camera pulls away... THE END
OR...... IS IT?
