This is one of those books I really liked, but I can't exactly say why. I liked the characters and I got caught up in their emotions. I guess I liked the tone of the book, because not much really happened plot-wise. Regardless, I would recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this young adult novel. The story of Emmy & Oliver who have lived next door to each other for seven years. They have shared adventures, birthdays, friendship; friends for life. Until the day Oliver is kidnapped by his estranged father. For ten years Oliver's whereabouts and welfare are unknown.
When he turns 17, Oliver returns to live next door to Emmy. He finds it very strange. He blames his mother, he feels he doesn't fit in at school. Gradually Emmy wins him over and they start to build on the relationship they had as children.

I loved this book! A sweet innocent friendship/love story. Does have some language in it, however.

Just what I needed! I read it in one sitting, and I'm so glad. It was light and fluffy- with just enough substance to keep the plot moving. I would have liked to learn a little more about Caro and a little less about Drew, but I loved Emmy and Oliver both as individuals and as a couple, and I definitely loved their interactions and the way the book was set up. 4/5 stars, recommended for anyone looking for something to breeze through with a happy ending.

Emmy & Oliver is an awesome read. Emmy is a high-schooler who lives day-to-day with her parents hovering ever since her best friend, Oliver, was kidnapped by his dad. Fast-forward to her senior year of high school and Oliver has returned. Oliver found out he was kidnapped by his dad although his dad told Oliver his mom abandoned them. Emmy has her friend back but does not mean her parents will discontinue the hovering. As the two rediscover their friendship, they discover they would like to be more than that. A coming-of-age, romantic, teen love that I read in two days. A great story that was heartbreaking at times and funny at others. Loved it!

this was a good book with a nice touching story. Emmy lost her best friend Oliver when he was kidnapped by his dad when they were 7. Now ten years later Oliver is back. I enjoyed the progression of the friendship becoming a romance. The only thing that would have made the book better was it had included Oliver's prescriptive as well.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. Great, easy read! Reminded me of my own adolescence. A great read for both teens and parents.
