As I was reading this book, I felt like I was taken back to Ireland in the 1800s. This well written book brings great detail of the historical events that happened during the potato blight. Told through a (fictional) 12 year old girl's point of view, you learn about an unlikely friendship that helps her survive. Highly recommended.
