"Hermione Granger and that time I let Harry decide where to go and we ended up lost in the Forest of Dean for five months, before saving his %^& at Hogwarts." Literally, that's the whole first part of the dang movie. I get why they split it in two and it had to happen, but part one was super dull and the second part with battle was beautifully shot. Parts 1 & 2 make a good movie (Dobby got cheated though, SPOILER, his death is nowhere near as impactful as it is in the book), but I personally feel let down - but the battle at Hogwarts scene was really good but incomparable to what I had built in my imagination from the great description of the book. I mean SPOILER you don't see this in the movie, but Slughorn (A Slytherin) comes back to help the fight, along with all the family members of the children who had stayed behind to fight at Hogwarts. I wish I could have seen that on the big screen, I wish I could have seen the parents/elder siblings of these young kids stuck in Hogwarts running to join the fight for their world.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part one is the second last Harry Potter movie based on J.K. Rowling’s novels. Harry now has to prepare to leave the Dursley’s for the last time. He will be moved to burrow where he will be safe up until Bill and Fleur’s wedding, then Harry, Ron, and Hermione will have to leave. They will go on their last adventure together outside the walls of Hogwarts searching for all of the parts of Voldemort’s soul, hiding in horcruxes. Harry was given instructions by Dumbledore right before he died that all parts of Voldemort’s soul must be destroyed in order to kill him. With nothing but their wands and a few textbooks, the golden trio will be tested like never before. I recommend watching this movie if you read the Harry Potter novels or have watched all the previous movies. Many plot changes have been made in the movie. I would not recommend a younger audience watch this movie as it is very dark and scary. If I had to rate this movie, I would rate it four out of five stars. @SapphireReads of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

The build-up is needed for part 2 but lacks entertainment is some places.

The hunt for horcruxes is exciting, dark, and sometimes dismal as Harry, Ron, and Hermione fight to keep their friendship and mission alive.
One of my favourite films in the series, 'The Deathly Hallows, Part 1' delivers stunning SFX, acting, action, plot, setting, romance, and more. Hold your breath and cling to your seat as you prepare for the amazing ride that this movie is!

After the missteps that were movies 3-6, the series finally manages to capture the essence of the books by splitting the seventh year into two parts. This movie really does a good job of fleshing out the characters who make play such a pivotal role in the plot development. The movie showcases the sides of the characters that the previous films did not have a chance to work on because of their short length.

Warner Brothers did well in deciding to split the book into a two-part film. So much happens that it really benefits from the extra two hours. That said, Part One isn't quite as good as Part Two.

I love the whole Harry Potter series. I loved this film. It may be too scary for young children. I highly recommend this film!

I wonder why you accept the rude political incorrectness of this story, just because you think it's others who are called "filthy mud bloods?" But brace yourself - those dumb and dirty "Muggles" are YOU. And it's said 4 times in the H.P. story that "muggles don't notice nothing." But you have to read the book or listen to the audio of it to get all the details. I tried to explain the real origins of this story, which is not the invention of Rowling - it's a double speak symbolic, very entertainingly fictionalized rendering of true historical facts, but the System does not allow me to make public my findings in a comment form here. This story is not simple fiction - in it everything means something else. Harry is in fact the Jesus figure, adopted by the Roman Church in 313 AD. And did you not find bizarre that name Dumbledor? It is magic language and it means Dumb Leader - he represents the Roman Church (see Fawkes too) and God Creator. And the Dirts-leys live in Privet (Privy, Pitstop) Drive, and are filthy mud bloods. Of DumbLeader (the Roman Church) it is said there that "he had prodigious magical skills". Indeed, "magic" here means the hocus-pocus dazing of the Crowd by the Priesthoods and their secret societies. That's this "Magic." OK, so try to see this story by knowing you are those Muggles. And those 4 Houses of Wizards do really exist - they are among us, but their "world" is not seen by the Muggle folk. The Gringotts Banks (4 of them) do exist too - they face each other, are of white marble, and are in plain view!). I found 200 coincidences between historical (and modern) facts I know of, and this H.P. storyline, which is not the fictional invention of Rowling. The "Mud Blood" expression first arose in the French Revolution in 1789 and I am not allowed to tell you what it really meant. And who instigated the French Revolution? Well, the Weishaupt bunch, the Slytherines. (Harry Potter means in this "magic language" this - "hurry, potter! and shape us like clay".) And when in the Chamber episode Dobby says to Harry: "it was a new dawn, Sir!" - well, if you know what that means, you might start to guess what the H.P. story is about. The meaning of the "writing on the wall" - you know, I guess, what it means, and it's scary.

This movie is nearly as good as the books which is saying something.
The movie is about Harry, Hermione and Ron going on a hunt for 6 Horcruxes, a task set by Dumbledore. on their quest, they find out some weird things about Harry and his extended family, they also find out about a Horcrux Voldemort never meant to make...
