An 8 out of 10 rating on this terrific documentary movie! It is well over 3 hrs. long and we could not take our eyes off it. We thought we knew everything about Elvis , but not so. It goes into great detail about his youthful activities, how he developed such an experience into various music genres, etc. There is quite a lot of wonderful music throughout this film, and very interesting interviews and commentary by Priscilla Presley, and friends and fans.
Now we know what shaped his life's work, musical tastes and beliefs. What an interesting man he really was.

(*John Lennon quote*) - "Before Elvis Presley there was nothing."

Whether you're an Elvis Presley fan, or not - This first-rate presentation is sure to hold your rapt attention from start to finish.

Without question - Elvis was a pop music sensation like no other before him.

Leaving no stone unturned - This 3-hour-20-minute bio-documentary, pretty much, covers all the ground regarding both Elvis's public persona, as well as his private side (which was kept well-guarded behinds the iron gates at Graceland).

(*Trivia note*) - As of 2018 - It is roughly estimated that Elvis Presley's records have, collectively, sold nearly 1 billion copies, worldwide.

(*Be sure to watch the vintage "Teddy Bear" music-video*)

A very good documentary of Elvis, 3 plus hours. If your a fan, it will be well worth it. If you don't know much about Elvis except the image, watch this documentary and you will see a True Artist, Icon, and wonderful human being.

Excellent. Elvis and I were in the military (Navy for me) at the same time. He was two years older than me. I know exactly where I was when he performed the world wide concert from Hawaii and the day he died. Well done and 205 minutes was worth my time. At the end you will see how many records cut, number of concerts and movies. He worked him self to death. There will never be another like Elvis. R.i.P.

i enjoyed this portrait of Elvis' life. I had the opportunity to see him live a few months before he died.

Without question a really special look at who Elvis was as a child, his family, his motivation to seek out a guitar and to sing, and onward into his marriage and career. I feel now that I really understand Elvis. He was trying so hard to use his gifts as a human being. He really never did any of it to become a star. Elvis played all over the country hundreds of shows every night of the week when he started out. These shows were before he was known and popular. For instance, did you know that Elvis played a neighborhood bowling alley (a small bar lounge of 50 patrons) in Tacoma on his original tour of the United States. He traveled by car with his two band members. Several of todays biggest musical geniuses like Bruce Springsteen explain how all those hundreds of shows allowed Elvis to develop into the great performer that we remember today. For me, if you like Elvis, then you just might find "Searching" as a revealing look at a musical legend!

This is an excellent documentary and provides a lot more detail about Elvis in his younger years and more of who he was as a person rather than just the image. Take the 20 minutes to watch the special feature discussion with the Director and two main producers, Priscilla Presley and Jerry Schilling.

Very informative and entertaining look at Elvis's life and career. Commentary by people who knew him well (most prominently Priscilla Presley) gives this bio rich context. Seeing Elvis's career unfold over the decades is like watching late 20th century American history unfold before your eyes. Really enjoyed this one and think you will also!
