A young Texan joins the British Army to go on what he thinks of as the greatest adventure of his life, the Great War. What Travis Lee Stanhope finds, however, is the worst of everything. Soon the landscape and morality of the trenches takes over everything in his waking hours and he begins to learn how close he comes being just like his alcoholic father. When his commander finds out he is a crack shot, Travis becomes the star assassin during the early morning hours. As the body count rises, Travis starts to see the dead. What happens next may be the end of Travis the soldier and the beginning of something that may end the horror. In the tradition of All Quiet on the Western Front, Patricia Anthony has written a novel that will live in your heart forever!
