Well honestly I found it kind of boring :( I would have been more interested if the author gave you more background on the other characters in the novel. If the listener doesn't infact care or like Clare Henry , then they sound just stop listening as soon as possible. While the secondary characters are involved in Clare's and Henry's relationship there is little known about them . Except for Henry's Dad and Clare's parents. Ever chapter felt like it had the same sub plot repeated over again. Even though the book shows the relationship through Clare's time frame from her childhood to adulthood , it just doesn't captivate me at all. But I the one thing that made me actually listen was the themes ; adulthood , eroticsm ,love , and long distance relationships. I wanted to know what Clare and Henry's ending was not because of any superior plot , or exciting scenes , but because when I closed my eyes the writing convienced me they were at one time real. But Clare and Henry aren't a very interested couple . And story lulls because you don't really get any action untill near the end when Clare has three failed pregnanices and Henry is forewarned of his death. If the author decided to make his characters more lively and three dimenisional this would have been a story worth reading over and over again , like Pride and Prejudice or Oliver Twist. My advice Audrey retake a writing class and actually ask people what they alike to read in a story that makes it hard hitting , and meaningfull.
