Bad Moms was perfect, and complete as a story. But the box office was more than 8x budget. So from an investors' perspective, a sequel was a no-brainier. The audience was primed, and from a business measure, Bad Moms Christmas was another hit, returning over 4.6x budget. Yet this couldn't be as great as the first film, and it isn't. The Terrific Trio of Amy, Kiki, and Carla still have their moments, but the film is cluttered by an overacting supporting cast -- thinking of you, Christine Baranski -- that diminishes the original magic. There are still plenty of laughs, though way too many tedious and uncomfortable passages, like a 7-year-old girl who drops the f-bomb three times. You probably won't watch this several times, even if you did the original.
