Linda Fairstein's BLOOD OATH is another very engaging story starring Alex Cooper. Fairstein has a way of setting up her stories in such a way that you can begin seeing alternative ways it will play out almost from the beginning. In this case, she starts with a young woman who approaches Alex Cooper wanting to expose a man who raped her when she was a young teenager. The problem is, she may (or may not) be a reliable witness for her own case. Cooper is convinced the crime happened and works hard throughout the novel to separate facts from fiction and to be able to verify the facts with credible evidence. I like Fairstein's approach and I like this book in particular because different scenarios keeping popping up as ways Cooper and victim's case could go sideways in a hurry - right up to the end. Great ending though. Great read.
