It's not a biography of Bruce Lee, nor a memoir of Shannon Lee, her daughter. With Bruce Lee's life-long ideas and lessons, it is more of a self-help book that could be applied to challenges in everyday life and not just martial arts. Although the book was not what I expected at all because I never read self-help books, for no "die hard" fans, particularly those who are not Chinese and non-martial art practitioners, it should be an enjoyable read. When her dad died, Shannon Lee was just 4 and I was a teenager. The philosophies / quotes, photos of his journal, the beautifully illustrated cover, and a peek into the thoughts of a guy who was far more than an icon: my favorite sections of the book. After reading this novel, I think Bruce Lee reminded me somehow of Steve Jobs: both were the kind of people who had huge interests in life, and all excelled. Final rating 4.9/5 @Barcelonafan1 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
