This is the book where we (mainly Sophie, but we're always with her), finally finds some answers, not all of them, but some big ones to some big secrets. My heart went out to Keefe in this book, him and Sophie are really becoming closer, but what Sophie feels in her heart is ignored by her and what she thinks she feels what she decides to act on. One small spoiler (that may not truly be a spoiler, but still, I warned you), is that Legacy literally refers to Keefe in book eight, while a more twisty turny deeper meaning would be how many of the characters have, had, and will have their designated roles to play. In Legacy, I think Messenger really learned and applied the skill of making her reader's hearts ache. Keefe's dad is a big meanie, but his mom is even worse (and that's saying something), and Sophie is still stuck waist deep in secrets that could ruin her world. Sophie figures out some really life altering secrets that relate to her, as well as others that don't, but for some secrets, she must carry the burden of their secrecy alone. Although the content can be burdensome on the reader, the pacing also wore me down a little. Kind of similar to Flashback, I feel like some of the oomph Messenger usually has in her books has faded. An amazing book that continues the Keeper of the Lost Cities plot well, but be warned that the page count does make you wish it would end a little sooner in accordance to the plot. Still it's a must read for KotLC fans because we can't bare to miss a second of it.
